I am a designer and an anthropologist, driven to create goods and services that shape optimistic futures. In order to accomplish this goal, I explore the complex, dynamic relationships between people, things, and environments, as a wholistic understanding of contexts is needed to create impactful interventions.
I recently graduated from University College London, where I completed an MA in Material and Visual Culture. My research aimed at understanding objects as producers of culture—contrary to the popular belief that objects are only products of culture. Through understanding objects as sociocultural agents, we can better understand the role of design and design research as tools for positive change.
Previously, I was at Carnegie Mellon University, where I received a BA in Product Design with an additional major in Social + Political History.
I am currently looking for opportunities in design and design research, particularly with others who strive to challenge the status-quo. If that sounds like you, drop a line!
Feel free to also chat about: Venice, Italy (where I did my MA research!); The Broken Earth trilogy; glass-blowing; or anything published (or soon to be published) on my Substack, Anthropologish!
Thank you!
